I took each individual track from the artists and loaded them into a sampler module, where I built patches that isolated loops of small segments of each track. I then processed these through many different effects until I found what I was looking for. I then added bass guitar, other synth or drum voices where I felt they were appropriate. Once I had each "remix" fleshed out structure-wise, I then re-amped them through my modular set-up that I use for processing environmental sounds. This final process is what gives each "remix" their shared DNA.
